Par\u00e9es de nombreux avantages par rapport aux m\u00e9thodes classiques de fabrication (complexit\u00e9 de produits quasi illimit\u00e9e, \u00e9conomie de mati\u00e8re, peu de pollution, etc.), elles ont le vent en poupe. De l\u00e0, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9es comme une solution universelle de production il n\u2019y a qu\u2019un pas. Un pas qu\u2019il faut bien se garder de franchir, avant de faire une analyse approfondie de chacun des moyens de fabrication additive, pour d\u00e9terminer dans quelle mesure il convient \u00e0 l\u2019application. Il suffit de regarder de plus pr\u00e8s les solutions de fabrication additive de pi\u00e8ces m\u00e9talliques.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Comparons par exemple, les machines de fusion m\u00e9tallique par faisceau d\u2019\u00e9lectrons d\u2019Arcam avec celles de frittage laser direct (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) d\u2019EOS. Si on cherche la productivit\u00e9 on choisira les machines du premier car le faisceau d\u2019\u00e9lectrons fonctionne plus vite que le laser, tandis que pour une meilleure qualit\u00e9 de la pi\u00e8ce on penchera pour les \u00e9quipements du fabricant allemand.<br \/>\nQuels sont l\u2019investissement n\u00e9cessaire, le volume de fabrication, la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 d\u2019un post-traitement, les mat\u00e9riaux qui peuvent \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s\u00a0?\u2026 autant de questions qu\u2019il faut \u00e9galement se poser avant de passer \u00e0 l\u2019acte. Dans certains cas on peut se demander carr\u00e9ment si le moyen de fabrication est int\u00e9ressant ou non. En d\u00e9pit du fait que leur concept date depuis plus d&#8217;une vingtaine d&#8217;ann\u00e9es, le mariage de la fabrication additive avec l&#8217;usinage dans un seul et m\u00eame \u00e9quipement soul\u00e8ve de nombreuses interrogations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Plusieurs constructeurs de machines-outils et pas des moindres, comme DMG Mori, Mazak, Hamuel Reichenbacher ou Hermle (voire, avec un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 diff\u00e9rent, le japonais Matsuura), proposent de tels \u00e9quipements. Un des derniers arriv\u00e9s sur le march\u00e9 est celui de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 allemande Elb-Schliff WZM. Cette derni\u00e8re a mis au point une rectifieuse, la millGRIND, qui dispose \u00e9galement d\u2019une t\u00eate de rechargement laser et de fraisage Ambit con\u00e7ue par Hybrid Manufacturing Technologies (HMT).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, pour Didier Boisselier, sp\u00e9cialiste de la fabrication additive au centre de transfert technologique Irepa Laser, l&#8217;int\u00e9r\u00eat d&#8217;une solution hybride est plus que limit\u00e9.<br \/>\n<em>&#8220;L&#8217;objectif principal de la fabrication additive c&#8217;est de r\u00e9aliser une pi\u00e8ce aux c\u00f4tes finies,<\/em>\u00a0explique l&#8217;expert.\u00a0<em>Mais que se passe-t-il si la pi\u00e8ce que l&#8217;on a fabriqu\u00e9e doit subir un traitement thermique ? On doit l&#8217;usiner ensuite. C&#8217;est un premier obstacle. Aujourd&#8217;hui, le march\u00e9 de la fabrication additive m\u00e9tallique concerne surtout des march\u00e9s comme l&#8217;a\u00e9ronautique, le spatial, le m\u00e9dical, la F1&#8230; Des fabrications qui utilisent des mat\u00e9riaux haut de gamme (titane, alliage \u00e0 base nickel, etc.). Il s&#8217;agit de pi\u00e8ces \u00e0 forte valeur ajout\u00e9e, qui doivent subir un traitement thermique pour \u00eatre finies. Autre inconv\u00e9nient : le co\u00fbt des op\u00e9rations. Ces machines co\u00fbtent cher \u00e0 l&#8217;achat et ont un taux horaire \u00e9lev\u00e9. Alors, pour les amortir il faut les exploiter \u00e0 fond. Or, avec ces machines on ne peut pas utiliser les deux proc\u00e9d\u00e9s simultan\u00e9ment. C&#8217;est tr\u00e8s difficile donc de prouver la rentabilit\u00e9 d&#8217;un tel syst\u00e8me. A mon avis, une meilleure strat\u00e9gie serait d&#8217;utiliser des cellules de fabrication qui regroupent plusieurs machines de fabrication additive (trois ou quatre par exemple), reli\u00e9es \u00e0 une seule fraiseuse\/rectifieuse qui usine les pi\u00e8ces. Finalement, les machines hybrides ne peuvent se justifier que pour des applications de niche. Exemple : le traitement de pi\u00e8ces de grandes dimensions fabriqu\u00e9es en acier par exemple, auxquelles on veut rajouter des fonctions. Cette technologie permet \u00e9galement la r\u00e9alisation des pi\u00e8ces dont on usine l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, qui ne sera plus accessible lorsque la pi\u00e8ce sera termin\u00e9e.
