Ce d\u00e9veloppement innovant issu du laboratoire alsacien ICube2 a donn\u00e9 naissance \u00e0 un instrument de pr\u00e9cision qui permet d&#8217;analyser des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes invisibles \u00e0 l\u2019\u0153il humain et, au final, de les am\u00e9liorer. La nouvelle cam\u00e9ra est destin\u00e9e \u00e0 des applications dans les domaines de l&#8217;industrie, de la science et de la recherche. Si la technique d&#8217;acquisition par balayage de fente (streak en anglais) est \u00e9prouv\u00e9e, les mod\u00e8les de ce type de cam\u00e9ras actuellement sur le march\u00e9 pr\u00e9sentent certaines limites. Ils s&#8217;av\u00e8rent, pour de nombreux usages, particuli\u00e8rement fragiles et encombrants, et requi\u00e8rent un co\u00fbt d&#8217;achat tr\u00e8s cons\u00e9quent (100&nbsp;000 euros en moyenne). La nouvelle cam\u00e9ra S3C-1 \u00e9limine ces contraintes gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une architecture ultrarapide \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9tat solide enti\u00e8rement int\u00e9gr\u00e9e en technologie CMOS3. Ainsi, elle ne requiert ni miroir tournant \u00e0 tr\u00e8s haute vitesse, ni tube \u00e0 vide amplificateur de lumi\u00e8re. La S3C-1 int\u00e8gre un capteur avec 200 photo-\u00e9l\u00e9ments rapides et une matrice permettant de sauvegarder 200 \u00e9chantillons temporels pour chaque photo-\u00e9l\u00e9ment. Des intervalles d&#8217;\u00e9chantillonnage de 500&nbsp;ps \u00e0 50&nbsp;\u03bcs peuvent \u00eatre s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s pour couvrir des fen\u00eatres temporelles de 100&nbsp;ns \u00e0 10&nbsp;ms. La r\u00e9solution temporelle est proche de 1 nanoseconde. Nettement plus compacte (un cube de 12&nbsp;cm par rapport aux cam\u00e9ras existantes ayant la taille d&#8217;une armoire), la S3C-1 est plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re (2&nbsp;kg au lieu de plus que 20&nbsp;kg). Robuste, elle r\u00e9siste parfaitement aux chocs ou lumi\u00e8res intenses, ce qui facilite son utilisation dans des contextes technologiques extr\u00eames. La nouvelle technologie permet un postd\u00e9clenchement, ce qui n&#8217;est pas possible pour les cam\u00e9ras \u00e0 balayage de fente \u00e0 tube. Compacte, elle correspond \u00e0 des applications dans le domaine de la d\u00e9tonique et de la physique des plasmas.
